Sunday is a day for walking, we cater
for all abilities from 3 mile walks to much longer treks along some of the National
Trails. We are currently walking the
Solent Way
. Before or after the walks we often have lunch in a local hostelery..
We have quiz nights go to dances and
discos and for culture the opera and concerts together with evenings at the theatre.
We love to eat and there are always a number
of meals during the month from the local takeaway to a Michelin starred restaurant.
We are planning a trip to
CERN
in Geneva during 2010 to hopefully to see the Large Hadron Collider. We have a regular
monthly lunch club
on the fourth Friday of the month and a regular book club for the literary inclined.
During 2010 the famous Loose Ends Art & Craft Show will take place. Two years
ago we staged our own Loose Ends pantomime so we are open to ideas for this
year.
We swim vistit the dry ski slope and the local climbing wall, not
to mention ice skating. A group went gliding and another hardy group tried
their hand at paint-balling.
We have a group who regularly go to the
Science Cafe
and the
Marine talks
for fascinating and mind stretching lectures.
Every Monday and Friday during tern time a grouip go to the concerts at the
Turner Sims Concert Hall
on the Southampton campus.
We have weekends away, spend the
odd evening at a jazz club and for country and western enthusiasts we go there
too. All this and for the night owls the Southampton nightlife.
